What does petty cash really cost a business?
More than the cash itself. Staff record every spend and file the bill, someone travels to the bank or ATM to top up the float, and finance checks vouchers and reconciles each location at month-end. Multiply that by every branch or store and it adds up to many hours a month.
How is the cost worked out here?
Recording time is locations × spends per location × minutes per spend. Cash-run time is locations × runs per location × minutes per run. Finance time is the hours you enter. The total hours are multiplied by your average staff cost per hour.
What does the calculator leave out?
Cash that goes missing, bills that arrive late, audit queries and the cost of carrying cash. It only counts staff time, so the real cost is usually higher.
How does OmniCard replace petty cash?
Each branch or employee gets a budget they spend by UPI or RuPay card from company funds. Every payment is captured with who, where and what for, checked against policy before the money moves, and the bill is read by OCR, so there is no cash box to count.
Replace the cash box. See petty cash on OmniCard, set up for your business.
